Pokémon ASMR videos are a, shall we say, curious genre of YouTube video. Most videos in the genre involve people role-playing as characters from the series and talking to you, the listener, in a way that can only be described as unnervingly sexual. The most popular of these videos features a woman (Gibi ASMR) pretending to be Team Rocket and trying to steal your Pokémon for 11 minutes. Not to yuck anyone's yum, but if you're not already an ASMR fan, it does not come off as relaxing.

But if Pokémon ASMR is a thing you might be into and you'd prefer it not to be on the creepy side, the Pokémon channel has your back. Yesterday, both the Pokémon Kids TV channel and the Japanese Official Pokémon YouTube channel released ASMR videos featuring cute little Pokémon just vibin' instead of whispering role play into a microphone.

Much like the games themselves, you have two options depending on the ASMR experience you want. If you're into crunchy ASMR, you can take a listen to Chespin munching on cookies.

Or if you prefer the sounds of nature, you can take a nap next to a sleeping Charmander and a campfire.

Nintendo has been experimenting with ASMR content over the past month in its Sights and Sounds series, which combines ASMR with people playing the Nintendo Switch. All in all, the Official Pokémon ASMRs are a pretty adorable alternative to the fan-made content out there. But to each their own.
