The story gripped gaming media earlier today, after the Journal De Montreal and Ubisoft staff on Twitter reported a potential hostage situation. Ubisoft staff were rushed to the roof of the building, leading to concern from team members and onlookers on social media.

Later that day, TVA Nouvelles reported that a caller had threatened to blow up the building unless given a $2 million ransom, but that the call was a "hoax." The call was reportedly made from inside the building. At the time of writing, there are no suspects in the case.
