Quandale Dingle Reported Dead On TikTok, But The Memes Are Merely A Hoax

Quandale Dingle, a folkloric TikTok meme character based on the name of a real-life New Jersey high school football player, has been reported dead in a series of memes that stir the ever-deepening pot of Quandale Dingle lore.

Quandale Dingle began life as a meme following the posting of an image displaying a “Quandale Dingle” login screen for someone on a Windows PC late last year. From there, the entire thing exploded earlier this year as edited images of rapper NBA Youngboy with a distorted nose became the face of Quandale, whose mythos expanded to involve several crimes and several accomplices (such as Juandale Pringle).

TikTok rumors of his death started circulating over the weekend on August 13th and 14th, with Quandale Dingle said to have died in a shooting. Posts used photoshopped headline chyron screengrabs from what appeared to be a news outlet to spread the death hoax, however, these were actually made on the website Break Your Own News (a breaking news meme generator tool).

Many of the death-announcement TikToks told viewers that they could not scroll past without paying their respects.

The overall Goofy Ahh meme community from which Quandale Dingle hails seems to be giving no clear signs of his alleged death, and a Twitter account purporting to be Quandale Dingle posted saying he was alive and well just a little while ago.

It’s also true that Quandale Dingle (the meme) is not a real person, so it is impossible for the character to even be "shot." But presumably, if enough people post about it, the death of Quandale Dingle can enter the overall lore of the character. Rumors of Quandale Dingle's death (such as the one below from March 24th) have circulated before and been quashed, as not enough people believed them.

This begs the question, how could we ever know whether Quandale Dingle was dead or not? Would a critical mass of memers need to state Quandale Dingle was dead for it to happen, and if so, how many even is that? Further, if Quandale Dingle is dead, how can justice be served to those who killed Quandale Dingle if they, too, are fictional?
