The wildly popular TV series Smiling Friends had a big day yesterday. The show, which had the entire season air in one night, was finally put onto HBO Max where millions could stream all the episodes at their own pace, amplifying how many people were able to see, take screenshots and clips, and comment about the show online.

Fans of the show and its creators, Psychicpebbles (Zach Hadel) and Michael Cusack, were thrilled to see the show finally get on a streaming platform, with the only exposure to it for many being what was seen on TV and snippets posted online after the fact. This streaming occasion was highlighted by an inflatable pop-up of the Smiling Friends logo and office building being set up in various cities as a promotional grab.

The HBO Max streaming announcement wasn't the only exciting thing to happen for the duo, as it was also confirmed that Adult Swim ordered a second season of the show, much to the delight of the internet.

People began immediately posting online about the renewal and how excited they are to see where the show goes next. At the same time, talk began to start up on who the show could have as a cameo for the second season, as season one was filled to the brim with different niche internet cameos, which were picked up on by the fans and led to increased discussion online.

There's no release date yet for season two of Smiling Friends, but it'll likely be sometime in 2023.
