The internet has seemingly been spared from the looming threat of seeing Sam Bankman-Fried and Caroline Ellison having sex, at least for the moment.
Last week, a supposed FTX "insider" angry at the scheme allegedly orchestrated by Sam Bankman-Fried, aka SBF, and Alameda Research CEO Caroline Ellison posted a link that promised a rumored sex tape between the disgraced crypto bro and his ex-girlfriend would be hosted there on November 18th.
The news struck a mixture of fear and curiosity among those following the story, as their tape was not exactly a thing many people wanted to see, but like moths to flame, some in the crypto community said they'd watch it nevertheless.

When Friday the 18th came, the site updated to say there "weren't enough eyeballs" there for the hosts to release the tape. Today, the site is gone entirely. Instead, the link now goes to a totally generic and very-SFW page for a service called NIMI.
While it may appear at first glance that the "sex tape" was just a hoax to draw attention to NIMI, this doesn't appear to be the case. NIMI is a web domain service in the Web3 space. According to its Twitter, it had nothing to do with the sex tape business.
Nimi has nothing to do with the original site which has now removed its content hash.
This happens with all ENS domains that don’t have a content hash set. See https://t.co/Wj2ZHn9vVE— Nimi.eth (@0xNimi) November 19, 2022
Instead, it appears that whoever was running the SBFLeaks site removed all content, leaving a sign-up page for NIMI in its wake, sort of like how if a GoDaddy customer makes a website with the service but deletes it, its old URL will link to a GoDaddy sign up page. The SBFLeaks Twitter account has also been deleted.
For now, the world is spared of the SBF/Caroline sex tape, but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist. However, the biggest threat of its release has apparently been squashed.
