If you're blue, and you don't know where to go to, why don't you go where fashion sits?

Vladimir Putin is rumored to have suffered a scatological parody of the above lyric's final line, as it's been said on an anti-Kremlin Telegram channel called "General SVR" that the Russian leader purportedly fell down the stairs and soiled himself last week.

The post states:

Truly dramatic events for Putin took place in the evening at his residence. Going down the stairs, Putin stumbled and fell to the fifth point, after which he fell on his side and slid down a couple of steps. The incident took place in front of the president's bodyguards, who quickly reacted and rushed to Putin's aid. Three security officers helped the president to get to the nearest sofa and called the doctors who are on duty at the residence. Medics arrived within a few minutes, but could not immediately examine the president. Putin suffers from oncology of the gastrointestinal tract, as a result of which he already experiences serious problems with digestion, and as a result of the fall, as it turned out, the main blow fell on the coccyx, which probably caused sharp pain, provoking involuntary defecation.

Given Putin's general lack of popularity in the West, many reacted to the story with glee, and soon the hashtag "#PutinPoopedHimself" trended on Twitter as memes mocking him spread around the web.

Stories about Putin's flagging health have circulated for years, but concrete information is hard to come by. In 2020, it was rumored that Putin would resign in 2021 due to health concerns, but that obviously didn't come to pass.

Some have since poured over videos of Putin and suggested he's exhibiting signs of Parkinson's or that he has cancer, though Russia has denied there is anything medically wrong with Putin.

So how likely is it that Putin pooped in his trousers? Realistically, it's hard to verify.

The runner of the "General SVR" channel claims to be a former Russian spy, which would give him inside information about what's going on at the Kremlin, but the runner has remained anonymous and several of their speculations regarding Putin's health haven't come to pass. Of course, the internet is full of people who just go on it and tell lies, so one person's word is not enough to deem the story "true."

Naturally, the Kremlin is denying the rumor, telling Newsweek, "Regarding your request, we can say that this is completely untrue."

We'll likely never know for sure if Putin was poopin' somewhere inappropriate, but for many on social media, the visual was enough to make it trend.
