Twitter Rumored To Be Experimenting With Dislike Buttons
Hot off its implementation of "Fleets," an Instagram Stories-like feature everybody loves, Twitter is looking into another feature it hopes people want even though they didn't ask for it: a dislike button.
In an exchange with a concerned user, Twitter's product lead Kayvon Beykpour let slip that Twitter was exploring a dislike button system.
#1, 2 and 4 are literally our top priority (making the public conversation on Twitter) and has been for years. We’ve made a lot of progress but still lots to do. We do feel it’s important to solve other problems too! As for #3, this is something we’re exploring.

As Beykpour's casual mention of a dislike button hardly constitutes an official announcement, it's impossible to tell how a dislike button would alter the Twitter experience. Nevertheless, the idea spread quickly through the platform, where users announced they were going to jump ship if it ever came to fruition.
i heard twitter is thinking about adding a dislike button, stop, we don't want it, cyber bullying is going to a higher level with this shit

If the dislike button is applied to Twitter, It's unlikely that many creators will publish their creations on Twitter. Who wants to do things that hurt themselves by revealing their creations? I don't know where the rumor came from.

However, at least one user sarcastically lamented the loss of the "positive" atmosphere Twitter has cultivated over the years.
I don't want Twitter to add a dislike button. I like this site's atmosphere of positivity and support.

Yet again, Twitter seems steadfast in not giving users the edit button they've been clamoring for for years.
