Steven Universe - Evolution of Peridot

I think it has to do with the fact that when we first see her in Warp Tour, the Crystal Gems don't know how anything about her or how much of a threat she is. It's only until later that we find out that she practically treats her mission on Earth like a day job that goes south very quickly and while she does bring in pretty dangerous reinforcements (the ship, Jasper) in the end she's rather inaffectual on her own.
