Years ago, I visited a zoo in Korea. They had a tiger there, and it was right up at the front of the enclosure, checking out people. One guy--I think he was a keeper--was doing a little presentation on the tiger for a handful of visitors. All of the sudden, the tiger looks up and runs over to the other side of the enclosure, looking intently at something. I turn around to see what had the tiger so fascinated.
It was a person in a wheelchair being pushed around. That was a slightly chilling reminder that, even though this tiger may have been born in captivity, it knows how to spot easy prey. It looks at us and thinks "There. That one. That's the one that I'd eat if these bars weren't here."
