I guess I will respond to these tweets regarding my opinion. 1) I don't think anyone is actually asking for a 100% literal Japanese translation assuming you are referring to simply taking a Japanese words in a sentence and change them into English with the same sentence structure for that would be incoherent for people who do not understand how the Japanese sentence structure works.

2-3) I agree with these two tweets though this is mostly because I perceive the paper Mario localization writing as being very good for the age demographic that its aimed for. As of today, I shudder to imagine Anthony Burch being a writer for a localization team for he would probably dump meme jokes whenever he is given the chance or try to create a new memes.

4) That is your opinion. I honestly would have liked petting in so that I could pet my ingame husbando Keaton or Kaden depending on which version of the game I would buy. It would be unfair to keep petting in for some characters and not for others because there are definitely people who do not want to pet furry trash but would rather want to pet burly men, lolita maids, feminine looking guys, or "insert character someone adores". Its pretty much a all or nothing deal and NoA choose nothing at all due to unknown reasons besides corporate branch decided it and the consumers would have to guess the reason as to why.

Fates is rated T for Teen by the ESRB, so their justification for removing content is somewhat flawed.
