Shout-out to RamdomGuy2013 for inspiring me to make this post. I discovered KYM over decade ago through Memebase. It's was a perfect place to find and smile at good memes via the trending page, with an actually sane users. Was. I saw the downfall unfold with these bots blinking reposting tons of reddit memes, clogging up galleries with crap that bury good images by posted by real users. This move basically killed entire galleries, like JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. It became rare to see a post with 100+ upvotes because so many people left. Each entities' Trending page use to change every few days with new, fresh hits. Now their barely change across weeks. But hell, I stuck with KYM, even as TikTok trash filled the front page and some moron upstairs tried pushing this new and worse layout. At least, we could revert to the Old Site... !https://i.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/newsfeed/003/051/104/898.gif! ...yet now they're going to end to old site altogether. And I'm just done. I'll lurk around until the old site is killed, maybe post a couple more images, out of respect. Even as a silent lurker. I'm sorry for any missing users that you think should have been included in this image. I didn't have the image file or time for all of them. Or because they simply slipped my mind cause there were a lot of users to remember and I did this image on a "screw it, just wing it and work on memory" aproach since I didn't know how much time I and this classic layout had left. Just know, that if I had the infinite time, brain power and image space, I would add most of the active and memorable KYM users into this image. So if you aren't in this image, don't feel bad, cause I would add you do it if things were different. There simply wasn't space and time for all. Just know you're in this image in spirit. And with the coming sunset of this era of Know Your Meme, I just want to say to those that know me, to those that don't me, to those that are still here in this website and are planning to stay, and to those that have already deactivated themselfs with no intentions to ever coming back. I say to all of you, the following: "I'm going to freaking miss all of you. Even the ones that I never liked or interacted with. Cause all of you together made this website a fun place to always come back for 10+ years. When a user adds a comment, image, or video on an article starts trending and is put on the Trending bar. When more content is being added it trends even more (goes farther left on the bar). Because of this, people complaining about something trending through a comment contribute to the problem and make it trend even more.
