So basically cable shows re-runs and filler until randomly announcing new episodes when their competitor's schedules are already decided and nothing short of a terror attack will change them?

In the end, the consumers get denied an expedient show watching process, the creators get denied telling their stories… Who wins in all this? Especially in this day and age of DVD Box Sets and Netflix binging where getting an entire series out is more important than ever.
