While I'm all for fan-rewrites of some of the poorer episodes. (I'll admit I've done it myself several times before.) This is less, trying to fix problems to, ripping something apart because of an aspect they personally didn't like… and making it worse as a result…

While I can't nitpick and point out each flaw here and there, this really does have that feeling of "poorly written fanfic" to it.
