This theme is highly tied to the plot of BvS. At the ond of the movie , you can see the painting is inverted. Night and day, you are the one Only you 'neath the moon or under the sun Frank The music played at Lex Luthor's party is Frank Sinatra's Night and Day SINATRA" It starts with Night and Day, you are the one, Only you neath the moon or under the sun. Lex'S opening to the fight is BLACK AND BLUE GOD VERSUS MAN DAY VS NIGHT Night And Day Classical art vs modern art Low art vs high art Horses motif Note that there's a ton of glimpses of Ancient Greek film A Balance Of Terror, Cleon Peterson- It's about senseless violence between people based on arbitrary differences (black vs white, representing skin colour, ideology, etc.) And black vs white is repeated in Luthor's line "day vs night During thei r peaceful discussion, they are symbolically already fighting with the back- ground greek images representing them and events to come.
