It's a simple back and forth fight for territory domain.
One minute Blue Team has all the gyms in their control, the next Red Team conquered said gyms.
They keep going back and forth with this never ending conquest and they get very angry every time this happens.
Which ends up with each other shitting on each other.

Meanwhile, Yellow Team is just happy if they can get new members and conquer a gym for more then a day.
