During an interview about Sonic 2017 this news was dropped, might not be a side/minor character either since, when they do introduce those kinds of characters, they let the community find out with time through slow news or concept art releases. They don't tell us over a year beforehand that a new character is coming in the game if it's an N.P.C like character so this should be interesting. Hoping for the best.
