And? That was before, this is now. Smash 4 as it is has the most diverse cast of character reaching Top 8s at various events for any Smash game. Fucking Marth took a major. Then a goddamn Duck Hunt of all things beats THE best Diddy Kong in the world. You rarely see that shit in Melee, granted patches saved Smash 4 but least upsets and hype low-tier heros come around to live things up.
Well it looks like comps are finally wising up to the obvious. Did we really forget why "no items, Fox only, Final Destination" became a thing? No, it wasn't ever that limited and we all know that, but comp Melee even at the top is friggin' boring. It always has been.
I've watched enough high-level Melee matches to know that the supposed "hype" is just an indistinct blur of the same few top-tier characters unnaturally spazzing across the same four Battlefield clones or FD. It's dull as all hell and if you've seen one comp Melee match, you've seen them all.
