Not only does the dude look like Iwata, but the place he talks about, SATORI Mountain, is named after him, and the Lord of the Mountain who appears at night there (also named Satori) is said to be the spirit of a wise sage who perished.

So not only is the spirit of Satoru Iwata hidden in the game, but you can ride him around like a horsey.
