I also just wanna point out how this scene combined with Jack and the Wolf show the dichotomy between the two parties. Jack is presented with a wounded predator, a legit dangerous animal, but he reacts to it with respect and a lack of fear. This leads to Jack's recovery, both of body and at least to some degree mind. By making peace with the wolf, Jack has made peace with himself.

Whereas the Daughters of Aku are presented with a pair of docile creatures showing nothing but serenity and affection, which causes them to freak out. They respond with fear, confusion, and aggression. They lose their focus for a moment, and are thrown off their game. 20 seconds later, Jack massacres them.

I'd also like to point out that Jack is presented with a wolf and the assassins two deer. It shows that Jack is now the predator and the assassins the prey.
