Although to be fair, it's a sand based Pokemon on a beach with tons of sand. I wouldn't be surprised if it is just gathering sand to make itself big rather than it being that big all the time.

The show (almost) never respects the sizes of the games, anyway, just look at dunsparce (aside that unovan one)
