It was often used when talking about creationists in how evolution is a scientific fact, and it didn't matter if they felt the Bible was literal. This was enormously common. This community was mostly made up of cishet white dudes. So when intersectional feminism started gaining a lot of traction online in the early 2010s, it was around the time when a lot of these guys were losing interest in debating creationists. So, because they felt attacked by the feminists, they directed their attention to them, under the impression they could treat them the same as the creationists they had previously argued against. Ignorant to the fact that intersectional feminism, unlike Biblical literalism, is the result of facts and studies. However, already under the impression that "T'm right and everyone else is delusional", the community felt that because feminism angered & challenged them & made them feel the same feelings that creationists did, that they could be treated the same And so, the obsession with "logic" and the mantra of "facts over feelings" carried over to the anti-feminist & current right-wing reactionary movement. this is f------ enlightening Not only that, but just because something is logical doesn't mean its correct, you can use logic to reach conclusions that are total b-------. a great example is the Dichotomy paradox, the idea that to reach your destination when traveling, you need to get halfway there first, and then half of the rest of the way, and half of that, and so on indefinitely. And since arriving at your destination requires an infinite number of tasks to complete, logically speaking, you'll never reach your destination I know a fistful of dudes like this and it's kind of mortifying watching nerds basically become the new anti-intellectual movement. "Logic and reason" isn't actually a goal for them, it's a totem you wave to fend off introspection and criticism. Like, the geek victim complex has turned these guys into everything everyone ever said they were and they're too obsessed with comforting themselves to change it.

antiblackness "sex positivity" was a mistake. it's not being utilized in a way that lets people especially young girls, people of color and lgbt people) have proper access to information about sex and STDs, consent, or r--- culture but instead it just promotes a "f--- whoever you want whenever you want and never think about the consequences!" mindset. it leads to a lot of minors making god awful decisions and then regretting them later with nothing they can do about it. it leads to "being open about your kinks is progressive!!!" which in turn ends up with men pressuring women into violent sex and saying that if she was a #Real sex positive feminist, then she'd have sex with him how he wants her to sex positivity should've been used to promote education of safe sex, to lessen stigma around sex (especially between sga and trans individuals), to give sex workers a voice, to spread proper information about STDs and prevention and treatment, and to teach about r--- culture and consent. but as with most movements like this all it ended up being was a red lipstick and black heels "f--- the patriarchy" type thing while doing literally nothing progressive! and of course i'm not saying there's nobody who does this, but with the way the sex positivity movement has gone, i doubt these people have the energy to try and have a loud enough voice in a community spewing the opposite of the message that should be gotten across Source: antiblackness #stuff to keep in mind #sex positivity #sexm #reblogged
