While I get your point, would that not technically give reddit OP's argument more validity..? Since immigration is a privilege and not a right, things like your race and nationality should have even LESS of a bearing on determining who gets that privilege. Merit and viability should be all that matters.

I am of the idea that immigration works as long as it has a limit and is very, very thoroughly controlled. Randomly lashing out at "shithole" countries does not really count as either a limitation or a control measure. It is a concealed attempt at outright forbidding immigration to select types of people and the opposite of "controlled" because no opportunity is ever given to judging merits and viability, instead jumping to conclusions that it will not work, even though Trump's wife and current chairman, Melania and Ajit respectively, DO come from "shithole countries", as he calls them.
