I, a person with no criminal record or dishonorable discharge from military service, just bough this rifle from a gun shop. LEGALLY! Can you believe that? They just did a background check to see if I had a history of mental illnesses, criminal record etc. and when it was all clear and OK, they just gave me a gunl Just like that! GUN SHOP THIS IS WHY WE NEED GUN CONTROLO

The videos/articles this one is referencing show the reporter demonstrating the "ease" of which one can get a gun in the US. These reporters are anti-gun and wish to further restrict gun ownership and they think by showing how "easy" a dangerous person could get a gun, they are convincing others to demand stricter gun control laws. They conveniently leave out that they have a spotless record and if they had been convicted of something serious that it would show up during the background check process, thus denying them the gun. Basically, the system is working as intended (when the police actually put stuff on file and follow through), but the reporter thinks it should work differently and is trying to pull the audience to their viewpoint.
