Yeah, i didn't really like that episode. Skinner was a character i liked and respected before that. He was kind of a bumbling goof, but he was a legitimately nice guy who could serious the fuck up when he needed to because he was Seymour Skinner, ex green beret and respectable military dude. And he really did do his military stuff, but the stolen name backstory kind of detracts from it, and his character in general, especially since they have to maintain status quo in a sitcom so the whole thing is just shoved under the rug at the end of the episode, only to be mentioned once in all the following seasons
