Here's the thing. Hiring a black actress for Starfire is super cool and valid, but come on. Guardians of the Galaxy got this right with Gamora. I even have beef with Beast Boy who just has green hair and something about that takes away what makes BB unique. Just having green hair just makes him look like an asshole. Everything about this screams "bare minimum" with costumes that looks like they found out of a thrift store. Not saying that costumes/makeup makes the show/movie or anything, but you kind of get a glimpse of what to expect when there's clearly no love in a particular field.
