This reminds me of Ninja Gaiden 2. There is a boss that after you kill explodes and one shots you. I made what I thought to be every common sense move, but could not win.

>Run further away
>Try to use special move invincibility frames to tank the blast
>Run so far I'm at the edge of the screen

I tried all these things multiple times to a point I rage quit and did not play for another month (I was too proud to use a guide). When I came back I beat the boss, but this time for shits and giggles I held down the block button…. It fucking worked. You are supposed to block a one hit explosion with sword….
