If there had been a shooting and CalArts ignored it, they would've been sued as responsible. You just treat everything stupid as serious because insurance requires you to do so.

There have been too many instances of people not taking people's threats of shooting up anything seriously, and those shootings actually happened. The two examples that come to mind are Randy Stairs and William Atchison.
