A lot of people don't understand how normalization works, that you just need to let your characters exist as people in their fictional world without needing to make a spectacle out of them.

It's probably how Splatoon got away with having a majority female cast in the first place.

1. It's not for social/political reasons.
2. It's not in your face.
3. It's not out of character.
4. The characters are visually appealing.
5. It's cute.
