Why leen litans Go is always on Why Teen Titans Go is always on I asked 4 kids (between the age of 6-11) to watch 3 episodes of Steven Universe, Amazing World of Gumball, Teen Titans Go, and Adventure Time The kids said they like TTG and Gumball the most. When I asked why the kids said they like those 2 shows the most, they didn't understand what was going on in the other shows. AT and SU are story based shows and kids generally don't watch every episode of a TV show so they can't follow the plot which is why they find the shows boring. TTG and Gumball don't really have plots at least, maybe a few specials. Kids come from school and their brains are fried from all the work. They don't want to think, they want to laugh. TTG and Gumball are shows that offer that relief. I think Gumball is a charming show and TTG has it's moments as well Story based shows do poorly because they generally appeal to adults/ teens who are able to understand the plots So it has nothing to do with the jokes,age demographic, and genre.I think story based shows are more well suited to streaming services such as Netflix or Hulu since that's why they really offer Gravity falls also dropped in rating as it began to follow a plot. Cartoon Network is showing a decline in rating which is why they show these shows constantly (TTG and Gumball). Why show poorly rated shows when you can show highly rated shows. We can't really blame the executives because they want to keep making money. If all these shows were high in ratings they would broadcast all these shows Note These kids watched none of these shows before (first time CN watchers) they were Nickelodeon and Disney fans. Well mostly Nickelodeon fans

I agree that there might be a element of truth to that. But 1: Avatar was really popular. And that's one of the most plot driven shows to ever plot drive. 2: It still doesn't excuse showing the same show over, and over, and over again. There are non plot driven shows besides Teen Titans Go, most of them a lot better. 3: I don't think children just want to laugh. It's more that any kid interested in a plot driven show would just watch it on Netflix or, if the first option isn't available, the streaming site. 4: TV is basically on its way out anyway. Desperately clinging to one or two shows, instead of trying to adapt to the new world, isn't exactly the smart thing to do when faced with extinction.
