Super Smash Brothers Ultimate - Yacht Club Games on Shovel Knight in Smash as an assist trophy

See y'all? That's how you should react to Shovel Knight being in Smash, not bitching about how he's not a playable character. The fact that an Indie game was acknowledged to this degree is already impressive on its enough.

I feel like people should keep in mind that it likely wasn't a decision between SK being playable or an Assist, but rather between SK being an Assist or not being at all in Smash. That'd apply to all characters who got a "lesser role" in Smash (Dark Samus, Chrom, etc.).

Honestly. I think most Indie developers would be overjoyed to have their character represented in Smash in some form. It's like being invited to the Video Game equivalent of the Avengers.
