Just want to pop in with a small correction: the Boy Scouts of America is not an "explicitly Christian" organization. There was a Hindu scout in my troop and the BSA offers official badges for scouts to display their religion or denomination of choice. That said, they are a theist organization. "A Scout if Reverent" is the twelfth point of the Scout Law and the Scout Oath includes "duty to God." A belief in a god or gods was required and I recall there being some controversy when I was in the scouts because a guy was denied the rank of Eagle Scout because he was atheist.

Disclaimer: I haven't been involved with the scouts in almost fifteen years, so things may have changed by then. To my knowledge, they are predominantly, but not explicitly, Christian. They are explicitly theist, though.
