Well, I'm pretty sure this is bait but I have a gif for this!

So, first two points: those aren't contradictory. You can in fact criticise someone for not taking risks and then criticise them for risks they did take if those risks were poorly thought out/stupid. Likewise, doing nothing new story-wise is as much a fault as doing something new story-wise if the new direction doesn't work.

The third point: I personally haven't seen anyone say Henry Cavill should have emulated Reeve more and it seems like an incredibly nitpicky point to cherrypick but that's people being nostalgic for the old Superman movies. It hardly means people just hate Superman.

Fourth and final point: again, not contradictory. A good story manages to strike a balance between "action scenes" (whatever they may be in the genre of the story) and quieter moments. If neither film managed it then it's perfectly fair to criticise the films for going to far in either direction.

And that's five minutes of mt life I'm not getting back.
