I'd like it, but … 125GB … oblivion… 125 FUCKING GB, the visual upgrade is nice, they didnt try to fix what wasnt broken wich is good, I would like to like it … but 125 GB… for what is pretty much

I dont wanna sound like an elitist or like a "ye old times" type, and dont get me wrong, everything I've heard from this game is pretty good (because its mostly untouched oblivion and oblvion is a good game)… but … 125 GB of storage, for a game that was formerly 4,6 GB… I am gonna have my reservations.

the new memes are hilarious tho

My ES lore loving friend said words I never expected to hear in my lifetime.

"My computer doesn't meet the minimum requirements to play Oblivion"

As nice as it looks, 10 times the size of Skyrim in STORAGE space, and needing 2080 tier card or higher to run it… that's Dragons Dogma 2 levels of needy, for a remake of OBLIVION. No overly complex monster models like the sphinx, no summoning meteors, no giant Talus boss… just… hyper realistic visuals.

I'm going to be honest, I'm not a fan of the direction devs are taking optimization in. Games are getting bigger faster than drives are, which is really saying something given you can fetch a 2 TB Samsung 990 pro SSD for cheap right now, slap two of those into an ATX board, and still only have a PC with 4 times as much storage as 2016 with games that are 10 times as big. GTA 6's size is going to be downright sinful.

Can we just dial it back a little? I mean, holy shit, WHY is the port of a 20 year old game more demanding than a game about 10 meter tall customizable mecha moving at breakneck speeds?

From Software: "This is the ice worm boss, this entire snowfield is the arena and we've simulated its movements to be serpentine even at its size, which you will need to take note of to hit its head. Watch out for the drones it releases!"

Bethesda: "This goblin warlock is eating entire gigabytes of your RAM."
