There is no such thing as a "wasted space" on Smash fighters. Sakurai has never, ever said such a thing as "this fighter didn't make it because there wasn't an open slot for it". That is literal bogus that obsessive Smash fans pulled out of their asses to justify these kind of rants.

If your pick did not make it, it is simply because Sakurai either did not feel like it, or he had technical issues with it (like with Rex). That is all the sience there is to this.
