You are correct. Ken Penders sued Archie for the rights to the characters he created for Archie and somehow won (even though some of them would be considered fan characters in any other context), so Archie legally had to reboot the comic in order to keep it going.

So all these idiots blaming Ian Flynn need to understand that if they hate the reboot, they need to blame Penders; it's literally all his fault.

Unless they don't like the IDW comics; then they need to blame Archie because they're the ones that wanted to ax Sonic because he doesn't "fit in".
