SHAZAM! was the OF Captain Marvel on the 40s back when it was publishe by Fawcett Comics; DC Comics sued Fawcett caliming it was a rip-off from Superman but in reality it was because CM was way more popular, because it was waaay better written and drawn. During the 60s, MARVEL created their first Captain Marvel as a way to secure the brand since no one was using the name, however, DC had just bought the characters from Fawcett and integrated them into their multiverse. However, due copyright, DC can no longer refer their Captain Marvel, which is funny since they tried so hard to ruin it on the fisrt place.

Also, Carol Danvers is the fifth person to wear the Captan Marvel mantle and the third woman on doing so.
