Anti-fun time: The point of not using Wikipedia as a source is that it is nothing more than a collection of information made more readily available. I.e., an online encyclopedia, as advertised. Although trolling of pages and defacing of pages isn't as common as a teacher would lead you to believe, it should still be considered a third-party source. There's nothing wrong with using Wikipedia to write your report, just don't use it as a source or reference. Use the first-party sources provided throughout the page, and any sources listed in them if need be. The information is a lot more credible and more convincing of your argument or position when coming directly from the source rather than having passed through several pairs of hands.
