I personally belive that criminals who show the potential to break away from that life AND the conviction to do so should be given more lenient punishments. But this is ridiculous, pretty much all cases that reach the news where this happens are.
Yes, i am aware my way of thinking would screw up people who never had a chance to live a life outside of crime. I never said it was a perfect belief.
