It’s criminal how we’ve never gotten a Metroid anime, OVA or even cartoon. You’d think that in the era of female protagonists in animation in the 80s and 90s, one company would have connected the dots of Metroid and animation.

I can imagine it being set like Mega Man or Kirby Right Back at Ya, where Mother Brain hatches crazy schemes with the help of Ridley and Kraid with the help of the Metroids, while Samus defends the lesser creatures of Zebes while preserving the Chozo ruins there. They could throw in episodes about the X-Parasite or Phazon to go with it and on rare occasions, episodes where the Galactic Federation tries to screw Samus over more. It’s a series that writes itself! If they can make it work with Kirby, Metroid would be a piece of cake! C’mon, anime studios, get on that goldmine!
