Unfortunately, that's the case with many violent extremist movements. White supremacist groups, Islamist terrorist cells, "incels", criminal syndicates, militias/factions in destabilised countries, etc. Some people feel alienated from society and find a sense of belonging and purpose in the most heinous of causes.

My dad sent me something about "incels" telling me to be familiar with it so I don't get sucked into that cult.
Of all the depressing gestures he has given to me about this that has had to be the worst.
