Seriously, the second you show their side actually responding rather than just sitting there waiting for the heroes to come and save them, every player just spontaneously decides that clearly the orcs/elementals/dark elves/Insectoids/Demons/Irish/Elder gods are just sweethearts who are clearly doing it because mean ol' humans are d----. He had nothing else to give. Is this just my groups? Usually it's just one or two players who then talk around the others. I've had it happen twice in two different groups with entirely different players being the trouble starter and a third time last night and now I'm going to have to scramble for a reason for the PCs to not end up being flayed alive and their skins being used as banner flags or end the campaign when it happens because they'll bitch that for some reason the evil race of evil bastards that's acted evil the entire way through, turned out to be f------ evil. Evil for evil's sake is shit tier writing, but only when it's like an actual Empire instead of a horde of ravenous demons from the Negative plane or something. A country based on slavery and raping babies would be unable to sustain itself, especially since no one would trade with them.

If you want to do evil Empires, try and make something like the Fire Nation. Heavily imperialistic, but believably so. Where the guys on top are evil, but the piss poor peasants don't know any better and are being fed propaganda.
