They might actually be, really. Almost every Japanese game that comes out as of late is met with scorn for what half of the times can be described as cultural differences between them and the West, effectively meaning that they want Japanese developers to conform to Western values instead of accepting Japanese values as valid too, which sounds pretty damn xenophobic to me.
