Damn, I am too jaded to find this funny more than a bit sad… I mean the story, not the drawing, the drawing is cute. It reminded me of this other story about a Chinese computer application which was basically as China bootleg as it gets and of terrible quality compared to its competitors, so the developers added an anime girl who, when the user rejected to install it (it seems it also was an intrusive software download online), came to the screen with crying face, asking why she was not liked and what she did wrong, which the user was given prompts to answer. Even the anime girl itself looked sort of bootleg, too, being of Chinese origin and all.

These people really know how to appeal to their target demographic's emotions, man, and that is rather manipulative in a way. I do not actually know if this snack robot is meant to be the same thing for the same reason, and maybe it really is just some harmless detail here, but it reminded me of that Chinese software nonetheless…
