I hate them more than I hate people. My husband can't swim so I figured there would never be a boat in my future. My husband now wants to live on a house boat. I told him I would rather be homeless. Now, up until this stupid boat came up, we had similar plans for life. We wanted to live somewhere remote, and just live out our lives as homesteading hermits. I had a very unstable upbringing. I never had a permanent home. I never stayed in one place longer than 3 years until I was an adult. I moved every 6-12 months. I had no stability, I had nothing that actually belonged to me. I want a small plot of land so that will always have a home. A home that doesn't move. A home that only changes with the seasons. I want to be able to survive on my own, on my land. By contrast, my husband grew up herding cattle. He sees land as something that will never allow you to leave. I also really hate boats. When I was 6 I was in a sailboat that capsized, and I watched my favorite towel sink down into the gross fish poop water. I was also drowning my mother because my survival instinct was stronger than hers. She lived, but I developed a hate for all boats. My brain says everything that is not a kayak, canoe, or raft, is a disgusting, fishy, rat infested boat that will take everything from you and leave you stranded. This includes ships, yachts, tug boats, barges, you get the picture. I cannot stress how much I hate boats, and make my boat hate known. So whenever the husband wants to talk about his stupid boat, I tell him why I won't be on this stupid boat. He completely dismisses why I hate boats. Boats aren't f------ stable, I want god damn stability, just once in my s----- life. At least if my land is s---, and my cabin is s---, it's my fault.
