rad-roach There's a reddit thread that goes into detail about everything wrong with Pokemon Swish (spoilers, obviously) and jesus wept. I don't know what you'd call this besides laziness. I'm legitimately considering canceling my preorder and buying Planet Zoo instead, and if I keep it, it'll be 100% stubbornness rather than any practical sense. bogleech Everyone criticizing this game is getting lumped into "toxic fans" right now and it sucks because as someone who has defended EVERY SINGLE pokemon game up to now I am absolutely heartbroken by how this one turned out. And I already had an issue with how short and how easy the main games were getting. The excuse that they're primarily for kids does not hold up at all - I slogged through some INTENSE rpg's as a very small child and every moment was exciting. Red/Blue and Gold/Silver were exciting. I actually had to strategize and grind and really fight to get past some gyms, but early players are one-shotting almost every fight in this one even if they barely leveled up. The reason all this stuff stands out is because they cut more than half of all pokemon with the insistence it was to make a bigger, better game than usual, and instead the total content seems to be slightly less than the last 3DS games Some say the team must be under-staffed and overworked, but that's only more reason to be p----- off, because this is the single most profitable media franchise in the entire world. Someone, somewhere on the Gamefreak to Nintendo lad der could easily afford to get them more staff, a lot more staff, and isn't doing so. At the very least, they shouldn't have been forced to churn out a new game this quickly. 4-5 whole years would be a perfectly acceptable wait for something as polished and content-loaded as, say, the Smash games.

Can confirm the difficulty part. Not because I myself was terribly skilled at games when I was a kid (I was very much not, in fact), but because my brother's daughter is, who is like 11. Not only does she make playing Mario Kart 8 almost look like a competitive sport, but also, this is the kind of stuff that she plays on her spare time ever since she was like 6:

Yes, extreme difficulty included, and she makes it look like default difficulty. Meanwhile, I myself cannot even get a damn perfect in Splatoon 2's rhythm minigame for anything beyond literally the easiest 3 songs in the easiest difficulty.

The whole "kids can't do difficulty" is, has been and will remain being the biggest lie in gaming. Kids can be way better¨than any adult not playing competitively on just about any game, and Pokemon in particular has no excuse, since even the hardest of Pokemon games are not that hard.
