That's kind of the point. She can't do much. She doesn't have the capital to much herself, and when she talks, she brings nothing new to the table. If she is incapable of doing much, then why is so much attention given to her? Because the media decided to run the "innocent child upset about climate change" story purely for views and it spiraled out of control because "gosh darn it, she's so young and innocent and passionate!" She's not infront of the UN because she has good ideas, original ideas, power or anything else of value. She's in front of the UN because she's marketable to the media, and I don't think Greta herself realizes that. Which is why I kinda get why people are upset about personal attacks against her, by all likelyhood, none of this is her fault, but for pete's sake, she should not be in front of the UN as the face for climate change and shouldn't have risen past the local news and the head of a town youth group.

No one guy has come up as a figurehead of the entire movement, and stop with the "no one listened" bullshit. If no one listened, technologies wouldn't have been developed and bills wouldn't have been written. If no one listened, we wouldn't even be talking about this right now. If no one listened, Greta wouldn't even be a thing. Just because everyone didn't unanimously decide to utterly destroy our economy beyond repair to stop climate change does not mean no one listened, and just because you feel enough isn't being done doesn't mean we should kneecap the entire movement by appointing a literal child as the spokesperson.
