99% of the time, I don't mind it if a student asks "what are we doing?" after I literally just explained it. I get it, stuff can be confusing and sometimes I'm not the best teacher at explaining things. But the ONE time that a question absolutely drives me bonkers is when I have the instructions written down on the board, on a handout, in Google Classroom, carefully explained out loud, plastered around the room, and written on my forehead, and students STILL don't know what we're doing.
It's one thing to ask a question for clarification or expansion on a topic, but it's another thing entirely to be that one guy to ask a question that was literally discussed two minutes ago.
