sindri42 Witcher Producer Blames Young American Audience For Viewership Decline Producer Tomek Baginski had some choice words about discourse over the show's simplified politics and low KOTAKU Tl;dr: The viewers wanted a genuine adaptation of the books, and the writers wanted to make a genuine adaptation of the books. But the producers assumed that americans and tiktok addicts would refuse to watch anything with complex politics, deep characters, or like, coherent or logical storylines, so they dumbed it down as hard as they could and defaulted to meaningless spectacle. They assumed that this would attract a huge global audience, but instead all the people who showed up for the first season because it initially looked promising just didn't bother to come back for seasons 2 or 3. And now Cavil, the one good thing about the show, is gone so season 4 has basically no prospects. Of course, none of the producers will ever admit that they f----- the dog here. They just go on and on about how butchering the story is "necessary" in order to reach wider audiences, and blame children and americans specifically for "forcing" them to ruin it.
