Gurting or Gurt is an ironic slang term and spinoff of the "Gurt: Yo" meme that means doing something that's very smart but also very dangerous, which is a reference to the "What They're Doing Is Very Smart but Also Very Dangerous" meme. The term was popularized as the subject of memes in mid-April 2025 and is often used alongside other niche slang terms like "IKIAB."

On April 8th, 2025, TikToker[1] @jdawg.157 posted a video captioned, "New underground slang word Gurt/Gurting When you do something that's very smart but also very dangerous We will be using ts new slang word," garnering over 1.2 million views in six days.
