Origin

The in-built "Add Yours" feature on Instagram^[1] indicated that the "Side Shot Nominate 6" trend was created by the Instagram page @bigbangpictures1 sometime before April 30th, 2025.

Spread

On April 29th, 2025, TikToker^[5] @user8292928389201 posted a video asking "what the helly" is the "Side Shot 6" trend, gathering over 28,000 views and 1,000 likes in one day.

Also on April 29th, TikToker^[6] @user276858063 posted a video asking, "first the usc mind challenge, now the 'side shot, nominate 6'?? where are these coming from." The post gathered over 23,000 views and 1,000 likes in a day.

Several Instagram users participated in the "Side Shot Nominate 6" trend in late April 2025, including Instagram^[2] user @rafael_11.kas, who posted photos of himself playing ice hockey on April 30th, 2025.

That same day, Instagram^[3] user @marmar.1k posted a photo of himself in football gear to participate in the Side Shot Nominate 6 trend.

Also on April 30th, 2025, Instagram^[4] user @lod_viper6 posted a photo of himself in the boxing ring and nominated six other people to participate in the trend as well.
